Olimpia traveled to Poland at the beginning of July to participate in the first Polonia Mundial championship tournament in Leszno.
This tournament was organized by Polonia 1912 Leszno football club and it was an amazing experience for all of us.
Everything was very well organized and we did not have to worry about anything except our games. The organizers made all of us feel like professionals for a week.
8 teams participated in this tournament from Netherlands, Austria, Germany, our club representing Canada and the host team of Polonia Leszno. We have played 3 round robin games winning all 3 and qualified for semi-final. In semi-final we faced very tough opposition from White Eagles Tilburg from Netherlands. Dominik Krzeminski scored the only goal 2 minutes before regular time.
In the final game that was aired live by TVP Polonia we won 3:0 against FC Schadewijk, also from Netherlands. Goals scorers: Nicolas Biskupski, Dominik Krzeminski, Sebastian Tomczyk.
We are very proud of our team as this is the most important success of Olimpia in our history.
